I don t know how often it happens with newer models.

Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of toyota tundra based on all problems reported for the tundra. Initially driver side lock actuator would not unlock door via remote. I don t see a lot of posts about it here. Door locks quit working with 17 751 miles on the truck.
